PAULA CABRAL MUCHACHO

Paula Cabral Muchacho (1992) is a Venezuelan and Spanish artist based in Barcelona whose practice explores presence, sensitivity, and the nuanced exchange between body, emotion, and space. Her trajectory through drawing, painting, installation, and jewelry, followed by her studies and work in architecture across Venezuela, the United States, Chile, and Spain, shaped a way of thinking grounded in an intimate sense of space, understood as awareness of how to inhabit it, perceive its rhythms, and translate its tensions. Her practice connects perception with proportion and feeling with form. Each work arises from a tacit act of attention, where emotion and circumstance become materials: light shifting across surfaces, the tension of space, the humidity in the air, or the accidental harmony of sound. From this state of awareness, she creates pieces that resonate with the fleeting quality of the present moment, as if time could be gently held within matter. Her work is less an exercise of control than a surrender to what appears, a visual record of perception and of life experienced in its most immediate form.

She has participated in exhibitions, festivals, and auctions in Spain, Venezuela, and the United States, including "Tejidos de Esperanza at Ascaso Gallery" in Miami and Women United Art Magazine. and her first solo exhibition, "Buscando el Presente", at the CBA (Centro Bellas Artes in Maracaibo) Museum. Beyond painting, Paula continues to expand her practice through residencies and collaborative projects that question how sensitivity itself can become a form of knowledge and creation.

Her work begins from the simple realization that life happens only in the present. From this understanding, creation becomes an experience of attention, a movement of acceptance, and a continuous conversation with everything that surrounds her: light, air, the dimensions of her body, sound, coincidence. The process is the purpose, and the resulting work is nothing more than the echo of that encounter. In her practice, each stroke becomes a quiet offering, a presence suspended in time.
